Greenway - Home of Agatha Christie

Summer Outing on Wednesday 5th July 2017

The 2017 summer outing was to the beautiful and fascinating home of Agatha Christie - Greenway, near Brixham.  We travelled by coach from Uffculme and then caught a ferry to the house - a half hour trip down the River Dart.

Agatha Christie spent summers and Christmases here with her friends.  The family were great collectors and the house is filled with archaeological artefacts, Tunbridgeware, silver and books.  The garden has a large wooded area and there are walled gardens with a restored peach house, vinery and allotment.  A visit to Greenway isn't complete without seeing the boathouse - scene of the crime in "Dead Man's Folly" and the battery, complete with cannon!

We'll be confirming details of our 2018 summer outing soon, so watch this space.
